Holy moly. The article for Week 35 of the The Glassman Chipper is really 8 articles pieced together. Under the umbrella of Nutrition: Avoiding Metabolic Derangement, the following short CrossFit Journal Articles provide information on various nutritional experts and their work:
The Deadly Quartet (Obesity as a cause, versus as a result of hyperinsulinemia)
Responsible Diet Books
Dog Food (a snarky CrossFit snipe at the commercial diet of pets)
Gary Taubes (the journalist shaking up the nutritional science community)
The Zone and the Omega Rx Zone
Bottom Line: CrossFit was/is on the low carb-high fat side of nutrition while much of the commercial fitness, generic science, and media culture was preaching high carb-low fat. First published in 2003, Coach Glassman states "We write here today gloating. Gloating because it is our perception that we are decisively winning the diet war."
A little gloating is probably healthy. Have you gone through any of these books? Follow any of the diet protocols?
